The success story of Indonesia Lightwood Pavilion at TEI 2019

Indonesia Light Wood Association (ILWA) and Ministry of Trade (MoT) which were supported by SIPPO successfully conducted Indonesia Lightwood Pavilion at Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) from 16 to 20 October 2019 in Jakarta. At this opportunity, ILWA and MoT have facilitated and promoted four ILWA members and they exhibited the latest products innovation from plywood, blockboard, panel decorative and paper impregnation

PT. Abhirama which is located in Central Java introduces bending plywood with different thicknesses  and the products could be bended to 360 degrees without any breakarage from its surface and lamination. The product is very flexible so that it will meet for furniture's products that require different shapes. Many buyers from local and international amazed with those new products and some buyers are very keen to get the sample and want to have further discussion with PT. Abhirama. Likewise, PT. Abioso Batara Alba introduces a new paper impregnation plywood and blockboard so that the front and back face are very smooth and it is really applicable for painted furniture products because the face is so smooth and it require less paint consumption.  Furthermore, SIPPO European partner and technical wood experts have acknowledged this innovative product will help Indonesia lightwood products' to meet high grade plywood and blockboard standard for certain furniture application. At the trade fair, many local furniture producers are interested to these products and some of them have requested a quotation from PT. Abioso Batara Alba.

The Indonesia Lightwood Pavilion at TEI was conducted for five days and it has successfully attracted more than 100 potential buyers both from local and international. Most of international buyers come from non-traditional market such as India, Africa and Middle East Countries are attracted and interested to those Indonesia light wood products. At this trade fair, MoT is the leading actor to manage Indonesia lightwood pavilion and MoT conducted daily briefing to all exhibitors and ensured all trade fair contact sheets were filled-in properly by co-exhibitor and recorded by MoT in a daily basis. At the end of the trade fair, MoT held a closing meeting and asked input and feedback from companies for further improvement and for next year participation at TEI 2020.
