Key presentations were made by PhD. Nguyen Thang, Director of the Centre for Analysis and Forecasting (CAF) of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and by Mr. Jonas Grunder, Head of Cooperation of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam.
Dr Thang opened the workshop by presenting the “ hot” issue of “Industrial Revolution 4.0”. There was a very active discussion among participants. The presentation highlighted the role of collective action through associations in order to help their members in collecting and applying big-data; this will lead to smarter and more successful management for becoming more competitive.
At the main session, SIPPO’s international consultant Mr. Miguel Camacho facilitated the acquisition of fundamentals on client-based and service-based business models for BSOs. Members should be considered as clients; real business and financial sustainability considerations are at the core of the discussion.
On the next morning of 31 July 2018, the expert also organized a “clinic session” for each BSO to start their strategic framework for their key services. Lessons from the workshop will enable the BSOs to continue elaborating their strategic plans for the next 3 years. The international expert will provide 2-3 more coaching sessions to each BSO for their first final draft by the end of October 2018. This will also be the basis for strategic cooperation with SIPPO towards 2020.
